Police have identified the 22-year-old Pahoa woman who was killed Saturday (April 9) from injuries she sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Nanawale Boulevard.
The victim was identified as Shyla N. Medeiros-Dutton, of a Pahoa address.
Police also arrested the driver of the vehicle identified as Gary A. Simpkins, 22, of Pahoa. He was arrested yesterday (April 10) at 6:15 p.m. at the East Hawaii Detention Center for Negligent Homicide I, Negligent Injury I, Accident-Death/Serious Injury, Give Information and Render Aid, two counts of Accident Vehicle/Property and Notice of Accident.
Simpkins is being held at the East Hawaii Detention Center as police continue their investigation.
