Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in a theft investigation.

On July 28, a man entered a grocery store on the 200 block of Kinoʻole Street in Hilo, took items valued at $157, and left the store without paying.

He is described as in his 30s, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9, 180 to 190 pounds with dark hair and a mustache and goatee. His image was captured on a surveillance camera.

Police ask anyone who knows his identity to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
