Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance with an investigation involving the theft of a statue from a religious institution on Kilauea Avenue in Hilo, which was taken sometime between Monday night, January 11, 2021, and Wednesday morning, January 13, 2021.

The statue is described as being approximately 4 feet tall, made of cast concrete, and very heavy.

Police ask anyone with any information regarding the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen statue to contact Lieutenant William Derr of the Hilo Community Policing Section via email at william.derr@hawaiicounty.gov, or call (808) 961-2350.
