Hawaiʻi Island police have identified the male victim whose body was found shot in a vehicle this morning (Friday) at the Puainako Town Center in Hilo.

The victim is identified as 41-year-old Benjamin Craig Davidson, of Hilo.

On Friday morning, December 18, 2020, shortly after 4:00 a.m., South Hilo Patrol officers responded to the Puainako Town Center for a report of gunshots and man in a vehicle who had been shot. The victim was transported to Hilo Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was performed this morning and concluded Davidson died from multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of death was determined to be homicide.
