3-17-22 Police Recover 345 Grams of Cocaine, Arrest and Charge Kealakekua Man for Drug Offenses

On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, detectives from Hawai’i Police Department’s Area II Vice Section arrested 46-year-old Christopher Mundon of Kealakekua following the execution of a narcotics search warrant at a residence in Kealakekua.

During the search, police recovered 345.9 grams (just shy of one pound) of cocaine and various items of drug paraphernalia. The cocaine has a street value of about $50,000. Officers also seized a 2017 Toyota Tundra and more than $1,400 in U.S. currency.

Mundon was taken to the Kona police cellblock as detectives continued the investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, Mundon was charged with two counts of promoting a dangerous drug in the first degree.

His bail was set at $100,000. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, in Kona District Court.
