Hawaii County police are looking for witnesses to an assault at Leleiwi Beach Park in Hilo on Monday.

A 60-year-old Hilo man reported that while he was cutting grass near the three-pavilion parking lot near the pond area between noon and 1 p.m., he was confronted by an unknown man who threw a stick and rocks at him and then initiated a fight.

The suspect is described as a local male, about 40 years old, around 5-foot-11, approximately 240 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He had tattoos on both arms.
