Big Island Police have arrested and charged a 30-year-old Puna man in connection with the burglary of a home in the Mountain View area of Puna.

Hilo Detectives, following a tip on the whereabouts of a stolen ATV in North Hilo, identified College Richards, also known as Benjamin Feldman, of Keaau as being responsible for a burglary in the Fern Acres Subdivision. He was arrested Friday (June 1).

Kona Detectives assisted in locating and recovering additional items stolen from the burglary that were hidden at a farm in the Captain Cook area of Kona.

Richards was charged on Saturday with burglary, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, criminal property damage, and two counts of theft. He was being held at the Hilo Police Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bail while awaiting arraignment.
