Crimes in Pohoiki 06-14-07

Police are seeking the public’s help in providing information to identify those responsible for the following described crimes that occurred between June 13, 2007 and June 14, 2007.

Puna police received a report of a robbery on June 13, 2007 at about 11:30 P.M., in the area of Ahalanui Park in Pohoiki.  The victim a 23 year old male visitor reported that he was assaulted by at least two teenaged males who then demanded his wallet and fled the scene.  It has not been determined how much or if any currency was within the wallet at the time of the robbery.  The victim did not require any medical attention.

Shortly after 3:00 A.M., on June 14, 2007 police received a report of a vehicle fire in Waawaa.  Upon arrival officers located a white, Chevrolet, pick-up truck on fire.  Shortly after arriving at this scene police received a report of a stolen vehicle from the Hawaiian Beaches Subdivision.  The burnt pick-up truck matched the description of the stolen vehicle that was last seen in the victim’s driveway at about 10:30 P.M. on June 13, 2007.

At about 6:54 A.M., police received a report of damaged property at the Pohoiki Park which is still under construction. The reporting person indicated that there was damage to six newly planted trees and PVC pipes.  The damages were estimated at about $15,000.

While still investigating the damage report at the Pohoiki Park, officers received a report of a chain link fence and stonewall being damaged in the area of Warm Ponds in Kapoho.  There was no estimate of the damages at this time.
