A 22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Hilo’s Kanoelehua Industrial Area late Tuesday (March 28, 2000).
Investigating officers determined that an adult Hilo woman was getting out of her car at a Holomua Street address shortly before midnight when she was approached by an unknown male.
The suspect grabbed at the woman and sexually assaulted her, but was unable to get her out of her car.
At 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, police arrested the suspect. They are holding him in the Hilo police cellblock pending further investigation.
The victim was taken to the Hilo Medical Center and later released.
