Police are asking for the public’s help in a continuing investigation into recent criminal property damage caused by graffiti being written on both private and public property in West Hawaii.

Kona Juvenile Aid Section detectives urged parents to be on the alert for “red flags” that may indicate their children’s involvement in graffiti. The warning signs of possible involvement include:

Police are urging members of the community to be on the alert and to report any suspicious activity. Persons victimized by graffiti should report it to the police so they can document it and then remove the graffiti as quickly as possible.

Anyone with information about such vandalistic behavior is asked to call Detective Whitney Jenkins or Officer Gerald Wike of the Juvenile Aid Section at 326-4235 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
