Detectives in Kona are investigating a robbery early Tuesday (February 2) on Ali’i Drive in Kailua-Kona.

A 30-year-old man from Washington state reported that he was approached by four local males just after midnight while walking north on the sidewalk fronting Hulihe’e Palace. One of the men assaulted him and demanded money.

The suspects then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

Detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section are continuing the investigation.
