Police investigating drive-by shooting in Hilo 06-27-05

South Hilo police officers are investigating an incident that stemmed from a “drive-by” shooting that occurred on Friday, June 24, 2005, at approximately 10:44 p.m.

The victim reported that he along with two other friends were in the parking lot of the Prince Kuhio Plaza when this incident occurred. A white older model Honda sedan, with white rims, driven by a male party stopped near the victim’s car then brandished a small handgun and fired a single shot at the victim. The suspect then fled the area and was last seen driving west on Puainako Street.

The suspect is described as a male in his early to mid 20’s, with very short black hair, fair skin, a thin moustache and sideburns.

No injuries resulted from this incident and a motive for this incident is still unknown.
