Big Island police are seeking the public’s help in an investigation into the robbery of the McDonald’s Restaurant in Hilo’s Puainako Center.

The robbery occurred about 7 p.m. on March 29, 2003, when two male suspects approached the restaurant’s drive-in window from Kanoelehua Avenue. One of the suspects sprayed the teller with Mace, and the other grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register. The suspects were last seen fleeing toward the Panaewa housing area.

Both suspects were described as males 18 to 20 years old. One suspect was described as being 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 in height with a slim build, having a fair complexion and brown shoulder-length hair and wearing a baseball cap, gray and red shirt and long shorts that came down below his knees. The second suspect was described as being 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 in height, having short black hair and wearing a hat.
