Video surveillance leads to burglary arrest 10-08-14

A Puna man has been charged with burglary in connection with a break-in in August.

On August 27, a 56-year-old Keaau woman reported that an unknown person went into her home and removed jewelry.

Police recovered surveillance video and identified the suspect as 30-year-old Kawai Pomroy of Mountain View.

Officers from the Area I Burglary Task Force arrested him Monday (October 6) at Hawaiʻi Community Correctional Center, where he was being held for an unrelated incident. On Tuesday (October 7), he was charged with first-degree burglary. His bail was set at $25,000.

He made his initial court appearance Wednesday (October 8).
