Media Release [corrects date of crime in 2nd paragraph]

Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying someone captured on surveillance video during a commercial burglary.

The unknown man entered the maintenance area of Orchid Isle Ford in Hilo and removed tools sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 5:58 p.m. on June 26 [corrected date].

Police ask that anyone with information about the man’s identity or anything else about this case call Detective Derek Morimoto at 961-2380 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
