Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 39-year-old man wanted for escape.  Nathan Keali’i Apolo is wanted for escaping from the Hawai’i Community Correctional Center’s Hale Nani Facility on Wednesday (August 17) at 6:20 p.m.

Apolo had previously been on a furlough program but that was terminated. He fled the facility and has not been heard from since.

He is described as 6-feet tall, 185 pounds with short black hair, brown eyes, a tanned complexion and a medium build.

Police ask that anyone with information on Apolo’s whereabouts call Acting Lieutenant Reed Mahuna at 961-2252. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
