The Hawai’i Police Department is investigating a theft from a boat moored at Keauhou Bay.

Sometime between 5 p.m. on May 29 and 2 p.m. on June 1, someone boarded the vessel and stole Penn and Shimano brand fishing poles and reels valued at more than $10,000.

Police ask that anyone with information about this case or the stolen property call Officer Jason Smith at 326-4646, extension 253, or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 [correct number] in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
