Hawaii County police are investigating a report of a robbery on the Waipio access road Friday night (February 8) .

A 35-year-old Colorado man reported Saturday (February 9) that he had been been accosted by a man with a handgun at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday night. He said the man threatened him with the handgun and then robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash.

He described the suspect as a local male with a dark complexion, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9, about 160 pounds with short hair. According to the victim, the suspect and another person were traveling in a white two-door Dodge sedan, possibly a Dodge Neon.

Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the robbery to call Officer William Torres or Sergeant Jefferson Grantz at 775-7533.
