Media Release

The most recent edition of the Crime Stoppers television program “Hawai’i Island’s Most Wanted” features possible witnesses in a murder investigation, a 37-year-old woman wanted on bench warrants, and a man wanted for failing to appear in court.

The new episode begins airing Friday, September 25.

In it, police ask for the public’s help in locating occupants of a sports-utility vehicle who may have seen 5-year-old Javieanne Win near a building by the intersection of Shipman Street and Kamehameha Avenue in downtown Hilo at 2:13 p.m. on September 6. The SUV, which was seen on a surveillance video, appears to be a red or maroon Toyota RAV 4 with surf racks.

The television program also asks for the public’s help in locating 37-year-old Natalie Taketa, also known as Natalie Ann Asuncion, who is wanted for violating terms of a deferred plea in an unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle case. She is also wanted for violating probation after being convicted of promoting a dangerous drug and illegally possessing a weapon. She is described as Filipino, 5-foot-8, about 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last known to live in Nā’ālehu.

In this edition of “Hawai’i Island’s Most Wanted,” the host, Sergeant Melvin Yamamoto, also asks for help in locating 29-year-old Nicholas Samuel Davis, who is wanted on a 50-thousand-dollar bench warrant. He is described as Caucasian, 6-foot-2, 180 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. Police believe he is living in Puna.

Police ask that anyone with information about any of these witnesses and wanted persons call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300 in Hilo and (808) 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential. Crime Stoppers does not tape record phone calls or subscribe to caller ID.

“Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted” is a project of Crime Stoppers Hilo, Inc., which is a partnership of the business community, the media and the police. It was inspired by the national TV show, “America’s Most Wanted.”

The program airs on Na Leo O Hawaii Community Television Channel 54 on Sundays at 5 p.m. and Fridays at 5:30 p.m. It also airs intermittently on Channel 53.
