Media Release

The Hawaii Island Police Activities League (HI-PAL) will again hold a Boys and Girls Intermediate School Spring Basketball League.

League play will begin in mid-March during Spring Break and conclude in mid-May. This league is for 6th, 7th and 8th grade intermediate school students only. Teams are formed within the interested students’ intermediate schools and will compete against other participating intermediate schools.

Outside organizations may participate by representing their schools. Home school students and students unable to form a team from their school may be combined to form a team.

Teams that participated in the Fall Intermediate School Basketball League are automatically a part of this spring session.

All interested coaches are encouraged to call the HI-PAL office at 961-2220 or the Community Policing Office at 961-8121. For additional information, you may call HI-PAL’s East Hawaii coordinator, Officer Joseph Botelho Jr., at 896-9710.
