Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a robbery in Hilo that was reported Tuesday but occurred last week.

A 43-year-old Hilo woman reported that between 9 a.m and 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 4, she was walking with a bicycle on Mililani Street between Piʻilani Street and Hualani Street when she was approached by a man who demanded money, threatened her and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was not injured in the encounter.

The suspect was described as a local male between 5-foot-10 and 5-foot-11 with a muscular build, dark brown eyes, very short black hair and a tan complexion. He was wearing surf shorts and a dirty blue tank top.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the person depicted in the forensic artist’s composite drawing to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line or contact Detective Grant Todd at 961-2385 or gtodd@co.hawaii.hi.us.
