On Friday (February 12) at 1:27 a.m., Hawai’i Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of an assault victim at the Kona Community Hospital.

Officers determined that the victim, a 21-year-old male from Kailua-Kona, had sustained multiple lacerations during a confrontation with another adult male occurring earlier that morning within the parking lot of the King Kamehameha Center in Kailua-Kona. The victim was treated for his injuries and released.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Section Area II are continuing with the investigation.
