Media Release (Update)

As a follow up to this morning’s media release, the Hawaii Police Department has identified the victim of an apparent stabbing occurring on Tuesday evening, as Victoria Vickers, a 57 year-old female resident of Kaohe, South Kona. An autopsy will be conducted on Thursday to determine the cause of her death.

James Abernethy, a 60 year-old male has been arrested for Murder and is currently being detained in the Kona Police Cellblock. James Abernethy and Victoria Vickers resided in the same house along with a 61 year-old female who also sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from the Kona Hospital. The Area II Criminal Investigative Section is continuing its investigation into this incident.
