Media Release (correction)

The Aloha Exchange Club of East Hawai’i recognized Puna Patrol Officer William Brown on Thursday (April 23) as “Officer of the Month” for March.

Brown [corrected name] was honored during a luncheon ceremony at Coqui’s Hideaway Restaurant in Hilo for his investigation of a burglary ring in Mountain View. According to Sergeant Juergen Canda, Brown was assigned to a burglary task force because of his “outstanding investigative skills” in connection with a burglary in the Pacific Paradise Gardens subdivision. His efforts in that investigation led to the arrest of four suspects, the closure of four burglary cases linked to those suspects, and the recovery of property.

As “Officer of the Month,” Brown is eligible for “Officer of the Year.”
