The Kona Crime Prevention Committee recognized Detective [rank corrected] Myra Iwamoto as “Officers of the Month” in a luncheon ceremony Wednesday (March 4) at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.

Officer Iwamoto was honored for her investigative efforts into a robbery and burglary at a Kailua-Kona movie theater in January.

As “Officer of the Month,” Iwamoto is eligible to become “Officer of the Year.”

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee is an organization that encourages community involvement in aiding and supporting police in West Hawaii.
