Media Release

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee recognized Officers Calvin Delaries and Luke Watkins as “Officers of the Month” in a luncheon ceremony Wednesday (February 4) at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.

Officers Delaries and Watkins were honored for their work on a task force formed in September in response to a rash of graffiti cases in the Kona and South Kohala Districts. Their efforts led to the apprehension of 11 juveniles and young men involved in 44 separate graffiti cases in the two districts.

As “Officer of the Month,” Delaries and Watkins are each eligible to become “Officer of the Year.”

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee is an organization that encourages community involvement in aiding and supporting police in West Hawaii.
