Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons who vandalized a playground set at the YMCA in Hilo.

Sometime between 7 p.m. Tuesday (June 3) and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday (June 4) someone poured paint on the playground set and then set it on fire.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Officer Matthew Kaaihue at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
