Media Release

Chief Harry S. Kubojiri has promoted four police officers from the rank of sergeant/detective to lieutenant effective November 16.

Sherry D. Bird is now lieutenant in charge of the Area II Vice Section. She was previously a detective in the Area II Vice Section.

Robert Y. Fujitake Jr. is a lieutenant assigned to South Hilo Patrol. He was previously a detective in the Area I Criminal Investigations Section.

Kenneth Bugado Jr. is now assigned to the Administrative Bureau as lieutenant in charge of the Police Department’s plan to achieve accreditation. He was previously a detective in the Criminal Intelligence Unit.

Daniel J. Mlakar is now a lieutenant assigned to Kona Patrol. He was previously a sergeant in Kona Patrol.
