Police Chief Harry S. Kubojiri has promoted three individuals from the rank of Sergeant/Detective to Lieutenant.

Lieutenants Nancy Haitsuka and Melvin Yamamoto are assigned to Kona patrol. Lieutenant Gerald Wike is in charge of the Criminal Investigations Section in Area II.

Before their promotions Haitsuka was in charge of Community Policing in Kona, Yamamoto was assigned to the Human Resources Section and Wike was a detective in the Area II Juvenile Aid Section.

The promotions took effect today (December 16).
