A 58-year-old Pāhoa man died Thursday (August 13) at The Queens Medical Center from injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Route 132 in the Puna District in the area of the 7-mile marker on August 5.

Responding to a 3:10 p.m. call, Puna patrol officers determined that a 39-year-old Kea’au woman was operating a 1999 Saturn 2-door sedan and traveling south on Route 132 when she ran off the roadway into some bushes.

It is unknown at this time if speed or alcohol were involved.
