Media Release (update No. 4 – corrects age)

Detectives from the Hawaii Police Department Criminal Investigations Section would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 35-year-old (corrected age) Robert Grant of Pahoa.

Grant was found hiding at a Nanawale home on November 8th and taken into custody without incident. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder. He was also arrested and charged with two unrelated bench warrants. Detectives are continuing the investigation into the homicide.

Police also arrested and charged 47-year-old Rory Libarios of Nanawale for hindering prosecution. Libarios was hiding Grant from police at his home. Libarios is being held at the East Hawaii Detention Facility in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Police are renewing their request for anyone with information about this case to call Detective Rio Amon-Wilkins at 961-2386 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
