A 60-year-old Mountain View man was injured after he gave a ride to several young adults and juveniles. He picked up the suspects in the Ainaloa area around 11 p.m. and gave them a ride to Hawaiian Beaches. Shortly after they arrived in Hawaiian Beaches, the victim was attacked by multiple suspects and his vehicle was stolen.

Fire rescue personnel took the victim from the scene to Hilo Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Charise Chai-Amaral, 19, of Hilo and a 15-year-old girl were arrested at the scene on suspicion of second-degree robbery. The juvenile was released to her parents, and Chai-Amaral is being held at the Hilo police cellblock pending further investigation.
