Big Island police are investigating a theft this week at the Volcano rubbish dump.

One or more persons removed four galvanized chain-link gates sometime between Monday (February 1) and Wednesday (February 3). The gates are 6 feet high by 11 feet long. Total value of the stolen goods is $4,500.

Police ask that anyone with information about this case call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
