Media Release

A Kona man and woman are in police custody after being arrested for selling a stolen camera.

The camera was taken in a burglary on Ali’i Drive in Kailua-Kona sometime between November 4 and November 5. Police alerted retailers in the area that someone might attempt to sell the items stolen in the burglary.

Police arrested 30-year-old Brandon Halmas of Kailua-Kona and 23-year-old Donalea Postma of Kailua-Kona on suspicion of unlawful possession of stolen property at 12:20 p.m. Thursday after they reportedly sold the camera to a Kailua-Kona merchant.

They are being held at the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section continue the investigation.
