Wanted: Nathan Cakin

Big Island police are searching for a Kaʻū man wanted in connection with a domestic confrontation on Sunday (July 3).
Nathan Cakin, 31, of Pāhala allegedly used a firearm to force his way into his girlfriend’s car in the driveway of their Pāhala home and then forced her to drive.
The woman stopped the car on Wood Valley Road and ran away. Cakin allegedly fired two shots and ordered her back into the car. Before she reached the car, the woman was able to escape into a vehicle driven by a passing tourist.
Cakin then allegedly got into the car his girlfriend had been driving, reached into the tourist’s car and dragged his girlfriend by the hair.
The tourist drove the victim to the Nāʻālehu police station.
Cakin is described as Filipino, 5-foot-9, about 250 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
