10 Arrested in Raid on Hilo Drug House 08/13/00

Hilo Vice Section officers arrested 10 adults Saturday (August 12, 2000) after raiding an alleged “ice” house on Keonaona street.

Acting on a search warrant about 12:30 p.m., the officers arrested five men and five women.

They also recovered 7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, or “ice,” 3.4 grams of dried marijuana packaged for distribution and various items of drug paraphernalia.

In addition, they recovered a 1989 Toyota pickup truck and $560 in cash subject to forfeiture.

During the raid, the officers served eight bench warrants on six persons, who are being held in police custody. The remaining four have been released pending further investigation.

Big Island police encourage residents to report any suspected drug activity in their neighborhood by calling the Hilo Vice Section at 961-2258 or the Kona Vice Section at 326-4240.
