Hilo detectives have arrested and charged a 49 year old Hilo man for sexual assault. A report was received from a female minor, who said that early Saturday (October 16, 2004) morning, the man sexually assaulted her while she was asleep at the home of a relative in the Hilo area.
Herbert T. Daligdig, of a Hilo address was charged for one count of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, and is being held in the police cellblock in lieu of $150,000.00 bail.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Detective Glenn Uehana of the Hilo Juvenile Aid Section Sex Crimes Unit at 961-8839 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. The numbers are answered 24 hours a day. Callers will be given a coded number and their identity will remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00 if their call leads to an arrest, indictment or the recovery of property.
