MEDIA RELEASE

Big Island police are investigating the shooting of a horse in North Kohala.

At 3:40 p.m. Saturday (May 14, 2005), the horse’s owner reported from a residence on Kohala Mountain Road that his black Arabian stallion had been shot and wounded with a high-caliber firearm.

North Kohala patrol officers have turned the case over to the West Hawaii Criminal Investigation Section.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the West Hawaii CIS at 326-4646, Ext. 238, or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
