Hawaii County police are asking for the public’s help in providing information about a bicycle crash on March 3 in the Ka’u District.

A 64-year-old Maryland man was injured while riding a bicycle east on Highway 11 at the entrance to Punaluu Beach Park. It is unknown whether he fell or was struck by a passing car.

Police ask anyone who has any information about the crash to call Officer John Smith at the Ka’u police station at 939-2520 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. all Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
