Body Discovered Wailoa 10/29/99

MEDIA RELEASE

On October 29, 1999, at about 07:55 A.M., the South Hilo Police and Fire/Rescue Units responded to a report of a body submerged in the water off the Wailoa State Park, in Hilo, Hawaii.

A passer-by, visiting the park, observed the body, and summoned the police and fire departments.

Upon arrival, fire/rescue personnel retrieved the body from the water. The body was then transported to the Hilo Medical Center, and was pronounced dead at 09:05 A.M.

The victim has been identified as Clyde L. Cobb, 54 years old, of a Hilo address.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death. There are no apparent signs of foul play, and an investigation into this incident is being continued by the Hilo Police.
