The partially decomposed body of an unidentified female was discovered Monday (October 4, 2004) in the corner of a parking lot at a Waikoloa residential complex.

Responding to a 2:46 p.m. call, South Kohala patrol found the body in the parking lot of Waikoloa Villas.

The officers initiated a coroner’s inquest investigation and called in detectives from the Kona Criminal Investigation Section, who are continuing the investigation into the death of the woman.

Police have ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and the identity of the victim.

Anyone with information about the woman’s death or her identity is asked to call Detective Juergen Canda of the Kona CIS at 326-4646, extension 277, or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
