Big Island police arrested a Waikoloa man Saturday (December 18) for a variety of offenses in connection with car break-ins.
Police officers in South Kohala arrested and charged Brandon Charles Lipps of Waikoloa with six counts of unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, six counts of fourth-degree theft, two counts of unauthorized possession of personal confidential information, one count of criminal property damage and for an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
Police found Lipps with stolen property in a vehicle he was operating and were able to link the property to several vehicles that had been broken into between midnight and 6:30 a.m. on December 18. Police determined that the crimes occurred in the Paniolo Estates, Sunset Ridge, Elima Lani, Fairway Terrace and Golf Course condominiums near Melia Street in Waikoloa.
Lipps is being held in the Kona cellblock in lieu of $18,050 bail.
