Media Release

Beginning next week, the Hawaiʻi Criminal Justice Data Center is raising fees for two services the public can obtain from the Hawaiʻi Police Department.

The fee for obtaining a printout from a public access terminal will increase from $15 to $25. The cost for a complete set of fingerprints will also increase from $15 to $25. Payment must be made in the form of a money order or a cashier’s check payable to Hawaiʻi Criminal Justice Data Center or to HCJDC.

The Police Department has public access terminals in the Hilo Records Section of the main police station in Hilo and at the Kona police station. The public will still be able to view information on those computers for no charge as long as they don’t request a printed copy.

Fingerprints can be requested at all police stations on the island of Hawaiʻi.

Both fee changes take effect on July 1.
