Big Island police are investigating a body found in Puna as a coroner’s inquest.

Shortly after 6:52 am, Saturday (January 28), police received a report of a body found near a residence in the Eden Roc Subdivision. The unidentified man appeared to be in his 50s.

Detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section are conducting further investigation into the death and have not ruled out foul play.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning to determine the exact cause of death and to assist in identification.
