In recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Hawaii County Police Department is sponsoring a presentation on domestic violence Saturday, October 30, 1999.

The free program, entitled “Kapae Kekaua e ka Hoahanau” (“To Cease Dissention Amongst the Kinsmen”), will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Aston Keauhou Resort in Keauhou, North Kona.

A panel of guest speakers from the Police Department, County Prosecutor’s Office, Alternatives to Violence, West Hawaii Family Crisis Shelter and Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, as well as a domestic abuse victim and a batterer will lead a discussion with the audience.
