Fingerprint fee to change for firearm permits 03-07-12

Beginning March 19, the fee for fingerprinting first-time applicants for firearm permits will be reduced from $19.25 to $16.50.

Payment must be made by Money Order or Cashier’s Check only, payable to Hawaiʻi Criminal Justice Data Center.

The fee, which is set by the FBI, was changed pursuant to Title 28, Code of Federal Regulations, 20.31 (e).

As with the current fee schedule, no fee will be charged for individuals seeking a second or subsequent permit to acquire a firearm.
