MEDIA RELEASE

A one-story house was destroyed by fire Monday (April 3, 2000) in the Paradise Park subdivision of Puna.

Responding to an 8:45 a.m. call, police and fire units arrived to find the wooden 800-square-foot house in flames.

The owner-occupant, Frances Gail Lee-Akana, wasn’t at home at the time of the fire, and no one was reported injured in the incident.

Estimated damages to the structure and its contents were not immediately determined, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
