Kona Police have initiated a criminal complaint identifying a Hawaii County Council member as the suspect.

On October 22, 2006, Sunday afternoon at about 5:00 p.m., Kona Patrol Officers filed a harassment complaint on the behalf of a 54 year old male whom alleged that he was threatened by a council member while at Pualani Estates Park, Kailua, Kona, Hawaii, earlier that day.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to call Detective Bradley Freitas at 326-4646, extension 228, or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept strictly confidential.
