The Hawaiʻi Police Department is hosting the HI-PAL Click it or Ticket 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on July 7 in North Kohala at the Kamehameha Park Gymnasium. This is part of the “Click It or Ticket” series of basketball tournaments. This date is moved up from the original date of July 14, due to a scheduling conflict.

Team entries are being accepted in the following age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 High School Boys, Girls 10 & Under, Girls 12 & Under, Girls 14 & Under, and High School Girls. The age cut off date is December 31, 2012.

Deadline for teams to enter is July 2. Each team will be required to complete a registration packet which must be submitted by that date.

Teams interested in participating or anyone requesting additional information may call Officer Joseph Botelho Jr. in East Hawaiʻi at 961-2220 or Officer Randy Morris in West Hawaiʻi at 326-4646, extension 258 or 936-2789.

In addition to the tournament, the Hawaiʻi Police Department will have information available on safe driving and seat belt usage.

“Click It or Ticket” is a national education and enforcement campaign to increase seat belt usage and decrease traffic fatalities and injuries. The Hawaiʻi Police Department encourages all youth, teens and adults to use their seat belts.
