MEDIA RELEASE

Allyson Yafuso scored 11 points and Lindsey Lee and Jaci Coloma followed with eight points each to power WHAT? past the KONA KATS, 37-24, for the championship of the HI-PAL Girls 14 and Under Basketball Tournament held at the Boys & Girls Club.

Nancy Hoist led the KATS with 10 points.

The game was a re-match in which the KATS earlier edged WHAT?, 30-28, in pool play.

The KONA STINGRAY ran past HI-PAL RUSH, 42-33, to capture third place. Other teams participating in the tournament were HI-PAL X-TREME, PAPAALOA AND HI-PAL WOLF-PACK.

Members of the champion WHAT? are Yafuso, Lee, Coloma, Chelsea Riviera, Traci Yamashita, Jenna Yanagi, Maile Toct, Jaimie Mattos, Stephanie Okuda, Chrissie Uejo, Larrae Enriques and Kanoe Sumera-Lee. They were coached by Bryant Mokiao, Joe Martin and Lance Kekona.
